Courses on recruitment : Recruitment

I have attended and sent employees on various recruitment specific training courses with differing levels of success that haven’t surpassed ‘meh’. I found the better courses weren’t recruitment specific but aimed at more general skills such as negotiation, relationship selling, proposal writing, bid writing etc.

The biggest benefit I find comes from sending consultants to industry events and conferences. Not just to network and meet people, but sit in on talks and seminars that really go into issues the sector they recruit in are facing.

I also get our ATS provider and job board suppliers to run training with everyone at least every 12 months. Best practice changes when they make alterations to their search algorithms and the training is better for new hires than I am able to deliver myself. They are always happy to help as it solidifies our relationship.
